A TALENT THAT DREAM ABROAD

Author: admin - Editorials - of: September 2, 2010

Dear Friend, Dear Friend,

In recent months I have lived and passed "at last" and my crisis here I go again with my editorial!

For years I read and reread that Italy is a country that lives more than others constantly "brain drain". Also I have written to tell the truth on the matter. But the thing that makes me doubt the most controversial and critical of others is the inaction of the ruling classes now faced with a problem of alarming proportions.

In these days the ranking by "Virtual Italian Academy", one of two associations of expatriate academics, evaluates the performance of 400 Italian researchers and registers as more than 50% of the talent working abroad.

This figure "photographs" the real situation of dramatically beautiful country characterized by emigration of young intellectual talent fleeing abroad to continue to practice their profession, because it discouraged from universities and research centers Italians.

During my lessons to meet students anchored to the dream of a bright future in the U.S. or in England some renowned business schools: Harvard, Colombia, or London.

So many talents who emigrate and many others who dream of emigrating.

I suffer for this. And I think of my children.

What is Italy, which I leave to them? That's talent that he dreams of "escape" abroad.

And how can I blame you ... dear Roberto!
It would suffice that the local institutions really took hold of the situation. The theory of km 0 is possible and is the only real answer to the crisis. If diapers instead of taking them from Milan would produce them here and we would certainly cost less ... a production sector that knows no crisis.
This should be applied and promoted by regional and provincial institutions ... instead of wasting money unnecessarily ... have a real industrial program.
The modern communism and capitalism can co-exist in my opinion, without falling into slavery. But I believe that the policy needs of the poor (votes), the unemployed and people who emigrates, because with power you can control the masses. The immigrant is a person who has already said "no" to his state.
    Word of emigrant!

That the good go abroad! Better for them and better for those who remain here. It 's a way to corner the current system of castes. If the water is not really in my throat does not go off.
Talk of international business schools: Harvard, Columbia and London. but kidding?! If you have ability and opportunity to go, what to offer in return?? You have something in Italy that can be compared to those you mention? The University of Tuscia?!
As for the children: they are good, better not go abroad. It 's just selfishness of parents to keep them close (usually the vice Italian).
If you hear the question was the most frequently cited Blog http://www.noisefromamerika.org . Frequntato quite a number of Italians who teach in universities abroad and are just glad you did, no regrets. Researchers in Italy would still be (maybe).
Greetings and best wishes to all.

The "brain drain" is not only a loss of people and money spent to train them. The innovations produced to 'brain drain by foreign countries in which the property will have been made, from which the country of origin must in some way back sometime. Another and more serious reason for this problem was the systematic determination of the political class in general, and those responsible for the choices of policy research in particular, not to give weight to the problem. Surely this is a thought that today in Italy will be shared by most people tired of all this.
